What you’ll learn

  • As a structure for our weeks together, we borrow Richard Schwartz’s IFS definition of the true Self where he identifies qualities (Curiosity, Courage, Compassion, Clarity, Confidence, Calm, Creativity, Connection, Perspective, Playfulness, Patience, Passion, Presence) that we all have access to and when the conditions are right and we’re able to express one or more of these characteristics, we generally say, “that’s the real me”.

Each week you’ll learn from a different facilitator who will share practices that work for them to connect to their true self. You’ll get to learn experientially and reflect on what works for you to turn into everyday practices that will help you connect with more of your authentic self and find the courage to bring these parts of you into your own communities and world.

  • Sometimes it’s a hard transition to move from everyday “survival” life into a weekday evening course like this to be your authentic self. We’ve added nervous system education and an introduction to a practice called TRE (Tension Release Exercises) to the curriculum to help raise your self awareness and give you tools to befriend your nervous system so that these transitions every week will become a little smoother.

When you first show up more authentically in the right environment, your whole body can start to feel deeply uncomfortable and try fight, run away and shut down. Practicing nervous system regulation will help you be with the vulnerable feelings of being your true self.

  • Each week, you’ll have a chance to unleash your creativity and learn how to express your true self through guided practices of creative writing, gentle movement, reflection, and sharing their stories. You’ll meet an incredible group of faculty and community that also value authentic self expression and feel like you belong.

  • Explore grounding exercises that help you stay present and connected to your body, your mind, your heart, and your true self.

Course FAQ

  • This course is designed for caring, compassionate, creative individuals seeking inspiration and a safer space to be themselves.

  • You must be a human willing to bring an open heart and curiosity to learn and try new things.

You'll also need an internet connection and zoom to participate. It would helpful if you had a quiet space where you could unmute to talk with others, space to journal, move around the room, and lay down in.

  • This small group circle was created by Thu as an experiment with the Coralus (formerly SheEO) community of changemakers in Fall of 2022 with an intent to deepen in community.

The way it came together was full of serendipity, emergence and grace from idea to the weekly practices. The goal of the first Embodiment Circle - Connecting to your divinity to change the world was to create a safe container for participants connect with their inner resources and deepen their connection with each other.

Thu wanted to create a structure where every participant could sample and experientially connect with their immense well of inner resources every week until that connection had strong roots by the end of the program. She invited her friends into the circle to share their practices as well and it became a sampler of a variety of head, heart and hands practices that participants could experience its benefits in the session and decide if they would add it to their tool box.

It was a deeply satisfying experience to witness incredible change makers make time in their busy schedules and honour their intention of slowing down once a week. They continued to show up and practice, week after week and there was a noticeable shift in energy, in courage and in wisdom.

Witnessing the tangible and positive shifts of clarity, confidence and connection in the first circle was inspiring. Also, it felt like the beginning of a beautiful community of both practitioners and facilitators who want to continue cultivating their connection of the qualities of our higher self. It has continued to evolve since then, drawing in a larger group, new faculty and deeper friendships.

This third cohort includes more of a focus on the safety, nervous system education and regulation to enhance the experience of connecting to our true self.
